1. Overview and scope

This policy applies to SALT Learning Circle version 1.0.0 for Android. The app is a guardian-managed, offline-first family learning organizer. It covers the information typed into the app, device storage, user-initiated export and contact actions, and this public companion policy page.

2. Developer and controller identity

SALT HOMESCHOOL GROUP is identified as the app publisher and privacy contact.

3. Purpose and intended audience

The app supports adult or guardian-managed planning for weekly learning rhythms, projects, reading, outings, helper roles, keepsakes, and family reflection. It is not an official school information system, membership portal, transcript, accreditation service, legal-advice service, or source of current organization schedules or announcements.

4. Information entered and stored

The app can store text that a user voluntarily enters and completion states chosen in checklists. Examples include weekly focus notes, project questions, reading reflections, outing preparation, helper selections, keepsakes, and roundtable notes. The app does not require a name, date of birth, account, password, student identifier, precise location, contact list, photo, audio recording, payment detail, or government identifier.

5. How information is processed

Entered information is used only to render, edit, summarize, and reset the private binder on the same device. There is no remote account, cloud database, developer server, advertising profile, analytics pipeline, automated decision, grading model, or background upload. A plain-text summary is created only when the user selects Export.

6. Permissions and device access

The shipped app declares no Internet permission and does not request camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, files, photos, precise or approximate location, notifications, Bluetooth, advertising ID, or background activity permissions. Local preferences are stored inside the app's private sandbox. Contact and export use Android system intents selected by the user.

7. Sharing, disclosure, sale, and advertising

The developer does not receive, sell, rent, monetize, or disclose binder entries because the app does not transmit them. The app includes no advertisements, analytics SDK, social SDK, marketing tracker, or data broker integration. If the user deliberately exports a summary or opens an email app, the destination selected by the user applies its own practices.

8. Retention and deletion

Binder entries remain in the app's private local storage until the user edits them, uses Erase all local data in the Guardian Drawer, clears app storage, or uninstalls the app. No server-side copy is retained by the developer. An exported copy is controlled by the user and must be deleted from its chosen destination separately.

9. Security

Data is protected by the Android application sandbox and the security controls configured on the device. Backup is disabled for the app. No local application can guarantee absolute security, so guardians should avoid entering sensitive personal, health, financial, legal, or identifying information and should keep device access protected.

10. Children and family privacy

SALT Learning Circle is designed to be managed by an adult or guardian. It does not create child accounts, public profiles, rosters, direct messaging, behavioral advertising, precise location records, face or voice records, or public portfolios. Guardians decide what is entered and should avoid names or other details that identify a child. A guardian may erase all local content at any time.

11. External services, contact, and export

Core features work offline and no WebView is used for the learning experience. Contact opens the user's chosen email application with the recipient address visible. Export opens Android's system share interface with a plain-text summary. The app does not send either item automatically. Third-party apps selected by the user have their own privacy policies.

12. User choices and privacy rights

Users can review and edit entries directly, leave fields blank, choose not to export, choose not to contact the organization, and erase the entire local binder. Because the developer does not receive an account or remote copy, access and correction requests are generally completed directly on the device. 13. Regional and international considerations

The app does not transfer binder information to the developer or to another country. Device operating-system services and user-selected email or sharing apps may operate under laws and terms that depend on the user's location. This policy does not replace legal advice about homeschooling, education records, or local requirements.

14. Policy changes and contact
